There’s no better place to watch a baseball game than at McCormick Field. With a 4,000-seat capacity, there’s bound to be a crowd, especially when Asheville craft beer and local food vendors are included. McCormick Field is also a minor-league field, so you will see plenty of variety in teams, skill, and gameplay, without the fantasy-baseball type stakes that come with major league games upon which people frequently bet the rent money.
If you like baseball, McCormick Field is one of the top attractions in Asheville, NC.
About The Tourists
Tourists. Where do we begin? A tourist is anyone visiting a destination as part of a vacation. However, the Asheville Tourists are a minor-league baseball team playing at McCormick Field. The Asheville Tourists have been playing baseball for over 100 years! They played at McCormick when it was opened and have been playing there ever since. Need things to do in Asheville with kids? Go to a Tourists game. It’s affordable, great fun, and guaranteed excitement when a pop fly comes your way.
Fun fact: the New York Yankees played at McCormick Field for a short period, meaning the Tourists played on the same field as the legendary Yankees. McCormick Field is a piece of Carolina and American heritage that you’ll definitely want to visit.
