Could this really be our mountain getaway? Before we knew it we had purchased, renovated and made it our own. We are excited to share it with you. The views are spectacular and rival what you'll see from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Come see why we call this home Grandview!

This home is private and secluded, yet close enough to Brevard to be convenient. The one level living area of the home is all about the view. A huge living room with high ceilings and a stone fireplace with gas logs connects you the the deck with a wall of tall windows and sliding glass doors. The master bedroom connects to our favorite room which is an enclosed solarium where you can enjoy the views from an indoor setting. It also connects to the deck, which is the best place to enjoy the view outdoors. There is another indoor view room at the far side of the deck that's great for kids and is set up with a TV, a Wii system, shuffleboard darts, seating and tables. There's a generous kitchen with a breakfast nook and picture window. The spacious bedrooms have plenty of natural light from the windows and are cheerful and bright.

Bring your bikes and your hiking gear because you'll want to explore all the outdoor spaces nearby. We are minutes from the entrance to Pisgah National Forest, DuPont State Forest (location of the first Hunger Games movie) and miles of scenic road biking. Gorges State Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, Hendersonville and the Biltmore House are all an easy day trip from our location. Come enjoy all the local restaurants, breweries, music and activities our area has to offer.

"Above the Clouds was the view almost every morning of our stay in this lovely home. We can’t say enough to describe how happy we were there. Quiet, peaceful, homey, comfortable and special…. Communication with Pete Key Properties was excellent. Location is out of the way but close enough to any needs. It was the first time for us to stay in the mountains of North Carolina even though we’ve been to Asheville proper many times and we loved it……can’t wait to return here.

My birthday and break from cancer treatment

"A few friends and I stayed at this property to celebrate my 52nd birthday and a 6 week break from my cancer treatment. It was perfect! Beautiful views and lovely home for us to relax in and enjoy each other's company. We chased waterfalls nearby and went Axe throwing and had dinner. Slept like a baby listening to the rain and drove to Pretty Place chapel and Biltmore after check out. A prefect location to do nothing or do everything! Will be back!

Amazing location and views

"I can’t tell you how much we loved our stay! The house was fantastic with amazing views. We hiked to see four waterfalls and all were very close by. We loaded up on groceries and ate in for all meals utilizing the stocked kitchen and engine the fantastic views. Our preteens loved the bunk beds and enjoying hot chocolate on the swing. We will definitely be booking here again. I would love to see a heating element on the deck and we would never leave! We loved everything about this and can’t wait to book again!

"Grandview was the perfect place for our Thanksgiving getaway. One of the most magnificent views we’ve experienced at a rental. Wow what gorgeous sunrises! Super private location and fantastic mountain community to stay in as your “home base” for all your activities. The house was super clean and well maintained. "We have traveled extensively through mountain towns of Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina and this property is our absolute favorite. This was our first time staying at this beautiful home with amazing views. We plan on booking same property again next year. We had such a homey, comfortable stay and were sad to leave. The house was clean when we arrived. We were so pleased to see the lights were left on for us as we are always late arrivals because it's all about the journey by car. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. We loved the little touches and the beautiful decor of the home. We had a couple of questions when we checked in and reached out to Pete key and their response time was incredibly quick, thorough, friendly and respectful. They made us feel like a true value client. The mountain views of this property cannot be adequately captured in photos. They are absolutely spectacular. We could not wait to return after a full day of playing tourist just so we could sit on the deck during the sunset hours. We even stayed on the deck after sunset because it was so enjoyable. We left the curtains to the master suite open so we could literally watch the sunrise from bed. The outside of the property is just as beautiful. Some reviews stated that the road up to the house was challenging. We drive a minivan and found that the roads were paved, clean and easy to navigate. We simply put the van in low gear as we were headed up the mountain, no issues.

"Lovely house in beautiful surroundings. The house is not new but has been carefully looked after. The main room has amazing views and a deck right at the tree line. We woke to sunrise, different every day. It is several miles into Brevard so make sure to do some grocery shopping and planning before heading up to the house. It is not hard to drive down to Ingles or other stores, or to order take-away food. We spent one afternoon wandering in Brevard. Even in off-season it was busy and there were waits for some of the restaurants. We were in MC to hike and found some great relatively local hikes. We took lunch with us so we could spend most of the day out of trails. All in all a well equipped house in a great location for getting away from it all, with both town and countryside close-by. Highly recommend.

"This cute house was perfect for a girls weekend. Drive up is a little steep so it is not for the faint of heart, but it is worth it when you get to the top. The view and sunrise were incredible. "Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The view off of the deck was even more beautiful than in the pictures! Even when you are inside, you can enjoy the views from the windows in the living room, and from the game room and room off the master bedroom. The whole family enjoyed playing shuffleboard and cornhole. The home was clean and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking in, which we did most nights. The proximity to trails and beautiful waterfalls was amazing. By driving 15-30 minutes we could be at a trailhead to any number of awesome waterfalls. The host was very responsive to the couple of questions we had, and the check-in and check out process was simple. Thank you for a great stay!!!

"Quick, last-minute getaway to the mountains before a busy summer. The Grandview home has a fantastic location, spacious layout, and is well-equipped and very clean! I am the GM for a vacation rental company in SC and was very impressed with the communication, property and how well-equipped the home is. The kitchen is well equipped with all of the pots/pans, utensils, and even a French press for coffee! The bedrooms & bathrooms were very clean. The primary bedroom mattress was very comfortable and the rain shower head in the primary bathroom is AMAZING - like showering in a waterfall. Overall, a great home in a secluded location but in the middle of so many places to explore & enjoy. Perfect for a couple, friends getaway or a family and the rental agency is easy to work with. Overall - a great home, centrally located to so many attractions and amenities!

"This was our second stay and this place never disappoints! I would say rent from Pete Key vs VBRO. More personal touch. This house is super clean. Not one complaint. Not even the slightest. View are THE BEST! Kids will love the game room and there are just so many special spots to this home. We love the location as well. Don’t be put off by the climb to get to the home. Once you arrive you will appreciate why. Last year we drove my car and this year my husbands truck. You don’t need a 4wd. It is definitely a place for memories! Great job to whomever keeps this place in top shape!!

"Truly gorgeous views/location. Home was as described and photos from Pete Key group. Ample room, well stocked. Way cool screened, with windows and AC room off Master was much enjoyed. Over 40 species of Trees surrounding property was a real treat. Very private yet with great access and comfortable travel to Brevard, Dupont Forest, Flat Rock, etc.

Great Times at Grandview

"My family of four hosted another famiky of three and we had a ball. The view truly is breath taking and you never get tired of it! The house is set up for fun, connection, and comfort ! Everything was clean and in place when we got there. The location is within 10 minutes of restaurants and activities. The Pete Key team was very responsive! We noticed a lot of bees in one area at the edge of the deck and they sent pest control to clear the area out.The decor is cute, bit not too feminine for the masculine people who came for a rustic getaway. The game room is simple and convenient. The kitchen had all we needed for meals, coffee, and cooling snacks and treats. Everything was perfect for us!

"Pulling into the driveway, we were shocked with how beautiful the view was. You can see the mountains through the front door. Absolutely everything about this property is stunning. The house is very clean, decorated nicely and has stunning views. The entire trip, we talked about how this would be a great place to visit with our in-laws. The kids absolutely love the shuffleboard room, and we loved the heated bathrooms. We had plenty of room for our family of five. I would absolutely visit again.

The only thing that could be improved upon is communication with the property management and owner. We received the wrong Wi-Fi information (which was resolved within an hour of notifying them), the wrong PIN number to the alarm system, and never received check out instructions after we asked for them several times. I think a great way to resolve that would be to have a folder or a binder with pertinent information (is a fireplace operable? Where's the fuse box? Are there alternative ways down the mountain in case of flooding? Ect.)

The communication would not stop us from visiting again though! They were fairly minor inconveniences given the wonderful property!

"We loved the view from this house! The neighborhood is quiet and private. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises and lovely bird songs every morning as the clouds came and went around the mountains. The house was big enough for our family of 4. The house is older and we did notice some minor issues but nothing that would keep us from returning.

"We spent a family weekend here. The views are absolutely beautiful. The house was clean and well taken care of with basic necessities. It is tastefully decorated and spacious. Our only suggestion would be curtains or blinds on the small windows on either side of the master bed to help darken the room for sleeping (or sleeping in). Close enough to Brevard to easily visit the town or the waterfalls, but isolated enough for privacy. Unfortunately it rained one day of our stay so we couldn't hike or explore as much as we had wanted. We would definitely rent again.
