FREE activities for stays under 29 nights, including Biltmore, Rock Wall, Zipline, Whitewater Rafting, Trampoline Park, Snow Tubing and Axe Throwing. Former horse farm called Vaquero (Spanish for "Horseman"). Secure storage for bikes and gear. Faces the French Broad River Valley with mountains in the distance. Only 10 minutes to downtown Brevard and close to DuPont State Forest and Pisgah Forest. Single level home on a flat lot. Very private, great for bikers, convenient to attractions.

Vaquero's outdoor spaces have been lovingly maintained and include a screened porch and deck that overlook the pasture and the dramatic mountain view beyond. There is a lovely pergola where you will find both a gas grill and a charcoal grill. The pond beside it has a little dock, which is a peaceful place to sit and relax. We are nestled in the valley so you don't have to drive on any twisty mountain roads to get here.

Come explore Brevard, Asheville, Hendersonville and the surrounding communities. Vaquero is located a mere 2 mile drive to Oskar Blues Brewery and several other excellent local breweries. Beautiful Sierra Nevada Brewery is only about a 30 minute drive away with tours and a restaurant. We are just minutes from downtown Brevard and the entrance to Pisgah National Forest. It's also a short drive to DuPont State Forest, the site of the beautiful waterfalls featured in The Hunger Games. Opportunities for outdoor activities are endless, including biking, hiking and sightseeing.

Downtown Brevard streets have a quaint small town feel but boast fantastic dining choices, bakeries, shopping, and several local art galleries. A favorite is Main Street Ltd., a great gift shop right next to Quotations Cafe. Of course, Brevard is home to the renowned Brevard Music Center, and is also host to annual festivals including the White Squirrel Festival in early June, the Twilight Tour and festival in early December, great 4th of July festivals, the Mountain Song Festival every September, and lots of fun activities on Halloween (Brevard is in Transylvania County, after all).

"Clean and well maintained! Love love love all of the potted flowers and the grounds were so peaceful and private. So close to all the things to do yet a serene setting. House is under stated and super functional for us! We hope to be back soon!

Everything about it was perfect

"This house was exactly what we needed for our little family spring break (with a 1.5 year old a 4 year old and a dog). Everything about it was perfect: the layout, the coziness, the big field and yard to run around, the screen in porch for a little relaxing once the kids are in bed, the laaaarge bath tub and the little pond with fishies. And the folks running the Airbnb were on top of everything! We also took advantage of the free Biltmore pass to occupy (which we had always put off until now because of the price).

"We came from Charlotte so when we got to Brevard, it was too early for check in so we went right down the road from the house to Brevard Tubing and went tubing for two hours until check in was available. Once we arrived at the house, we instantly felt right at home. The house was very clean and private! The property itself was beautiful. The house has amazing views on the back deck. We spent the most time on the back decks but also sat by the pond and the Pergola on the property. The location was great as we ventured to Hooker Falls, Sliding Rock and good Looking Glass Falls for a fun filled adventure! We look forward to coming back! Thank you for your hospitality!

Family Reunion in the Mountains

"The pictures do not give this property justice of the peaceful beauty and surroundings it deserves. The owners have thought of everything to make this such a pleasant home to stay in, from the decorative flowers on the patio and around the property, to ensuring the lawn is freshly cut upon arrival, providing charcoal for us with the outdoor grill if we chose to use it and having each room set up so nicely, with adequate towels for the bathrooms and plenty of kitchen amenities that we needed for our stay. They even provided fish food for the small fish pond on the property so that we could enjoy feeding the fish each evening! We loved watching the sunset on the back porch area each night and just appreciated the space this home allowed 5 adults to gather for our annual reunion with other family in Brevard. We felt very comfortable in this home and just appreciate the location, the views of the valley and mountains and the peacefulness in the evening that it provided. Would most definitely stay with this property again without hesitation!

"Beautiful house, great location, sipping a beer in the deck and watching the sun set was priceless!! Everything was perfect!! There were a few gallons of water for us for cooking. Very thoughtful! We went to see the waterfalls and there were plenty within 30 minutes!!

"This is the second year we’ve rented this house as overflow space for family holiday gathering. It is just perfect. Kitchen is well stocked, beds are comfortable and we appreciated the large TV for sports. The view of frost covered fields from the kitchen was so beautiful. Property is close to Brevard for groceries and shopping. We’ll be back again.

"This house is located between Pisgah Forest and Dupont State Forest and is close to many of the area breweries. We enjoyed the views in the evening from both the inside and outside decks. Only the cool weather kept us away from the pond in the evenings. The yard had plenty of space for our 2 dogs to run and play. I would definitely rent this again.

"After cancelling our beach vacation because of hurricane Ian, I found this property and I'm really glad I did. It's a great location just outside of Brevard and the home was the perfect size for me, my wife, and our miniature dachshund. Easy access to Brevard, Pisgah, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Had a great meal at the Salty Landing in Etowah and the sunset viewing from the porch is outstanding. Property manager was attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommended.

"We rented Vaquero to be near extended family at Christmas. It was a perfect location, a few miles away from their place, and close to Brevard, hiking, walking trails. The house itself has a beautiful view of fields and mountains from the deck or screened porch. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well-stocked. Added bonus is the gazebo and fish pond, a relaxing setting to enjoy a warm Christmas day. The place is beautifully maintained, all the comforts of home.

"We stayed at Vaquero for eight nights and enjoyed each minute.The home is comfortable and has everything you would need. The king bed is very comfortable and the home was extremely clean. It was very close to Brevard and about 25 minutes from Hendersonville. Thank you for allowing us to stay with our two pups. They enjoyed the large yard and we were able to see the farmer who leases the hay field bale up the hay.

CONVENIENT LOCATION

"We stayed at this house to be close to family. It is conveniently located to Brevard and Triple falls. The house was very clean and the owner was just a call away.The only 2 issues we had were the entrance stairs were steep and there was no handrail, and it is on a main road so if you have a dog that needs a fenced yard this is not for you. Fortunately ours was gine.

"We had the best time at this home. The house was lovely and fit our needs well. We enjoyed outdoor time by the pond and had alot of fun in the area. "Extremely clean and comfortable house with all the amenities. Excellent location - 2 miles to Pisgah, 7 miles to Dupont. For biking, there is a barn on property (with lock) to store your equipment. Great screened in porch overlooking the pasture, and perfect for enjoying your morning coffee. Also includes a gazebo with a Sterling gas grill - perfect for evening cookouts! Highly recommend this property as your base location.

"Beautiful 3 BR home with everything you need in the kitchen.
We spent a lot of our time in the screened in porch, never getting tired of the view. My daughters dog ran all over the property and believe me, there was plenty of it.

Wonderful mountain home

"This house has everything you need and all in working order. We just loved the location and easy to get to. There are no steep driveways to fight getting up.
The weather was chilly so we didn’t use the beautiful bbq area or the porch. Definitely would stay here again. No bugs and very clean, two of my top of the list requirements.

Country Comfort

"Viewing deer cross through the pasture in the morning while sipping coffee from the screened porch. Hummingbirds made a visit daily along with a calling hawk hunting in the field. House is comfortable, road noise takes getting use to...but would stay here again. Nice carport to protect car and people from elements.

Family Getaway Vacation

"We found the [perfect location in the mountains for the family vacation. Our son is an avid mountain biker and he said there couldn't be a more convenient location. He was only three miles from Pisgah National Forest entrance and only a little further from Dupont State Forest, It is a bikers dream location. The rest of the family enjoyed both the location to outdoor activities and the convivence of dinning and shopping in Brevard. Vaquero was the perfect "home away from home", base of operation for our extended weekend. The house is perfect for a family who wants access to all that wonderful Western North Carolina has to offer. Perfect for hikers, mountain bikers or horseback riders. The property comes complete with barn and fenced pasture. Very nice decks, gazebo and wildlife pond are all included. The house is very clean and comfortable. We will be back for certain!
